Valentine's Day

So Wyatt and I have been celebrating Valentine's day together ever since February 2006, so here is recap of all 7 of those days...

Valentine's 2006

In 2006  I was a senior in high school and one of my main agendas was to embarrass Wyatt whenever I could. So V-day was the perfect opportunity. So at school I went during passing period and wrote "You are Special" in pink on Wyatt's car, in addition to various hearts... I thought I was a genius and I was very proud of my work. I remember going to seminary that day and Wyatt was freaking out wondering 1. who wrote on his car and 2. how he could get the pink hearts off before he went home so his brothers wouldn't make fun of him. So I kept quiet and little did Wyatt know I had more up my sleeve.

Later that day,  I decided to make heart shaped little cakes and frost them bright pink. I decided to drop them off personally to his house. I had never been to Wyatt's house, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. I was scared to death but built up the courage to deliver the cakes. I went up to his door and one of his brothers answered the door (I think it was Blake) and I said "is Wyatt there." Blake smiled and went and got Wyatt.

Words cannot described the "look of death" that Wyatt gave me. I think he was so shocked that I would 1. come to his house and then 2. to come with pink Valentine's day cakes (it was too much for him). He glared out me, said thank you and SLAMMED THE DOOR IN MY FACE haha I was surprised by his reaction but I knew I had embarrassed him sufficiently.

We now laugh about it and it was the beginning to our playful relationship (this photo was taken a few months after v-day... almost the same face wyatt gave to me on Valentine's day)

Valentine's 2007

This year I sent Wyatt a GIANT Valentine's day card in the mail... the envelope was decorated with "I love you," "be mine" and other cheesy Valentine's day sayings. (again my purpose was to embarrass Wyatt). I remember when he got the letter in the mail, he called me and said "what did you just do?!"

here is a picture a month before V-day when Wyatt came to Provo to visit me ;)

Valentine's 2008

We were both living in Provo, Wyatt took me to the Pizza Factory, we made chocolate dipped strawberries and homemade peanut butter chocolate truffles.

Valentine's day 2009
So Wyatt was on his mission (and I left for my mission a week later). I found a letter that I got from Wyatt Feb 14, 2009.

Here is a little excerpt from it... "Brooke I love you so much! Especially with it being Valentine's day it just makes me love you and miss you more! You are the girl of my dreams."

Valentine's day 2010
In 2010 we were both on missions so here was the one sentence I could find about valentines day in wyatt's letter to me on February 6, 2010

"I hope you have a great V-day and I hope you will be mine."

Valentine's day 2011

This was left on my car...

So I turned 24!!! Its scary to think how OLD that is.... :) I had the most fantastic birthday ever (thanks to my wonderful husband). He surprised me with a little weekend getaway in Salt Lake. It was the perfect weekend.

This is how he surprised me... with a daisy and a note...

So we went to the Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake.

Each room has a theme.. ours was called the Kahn Mansion, which came with a HUGE bed...

a sweet tub...

and breakfast delivered in the morning...

it was a perfect weekend. Thanks Wyatt for being the best husband in the world!!

Then on Sunday night, Karlee and Mike invited us over for a birthday dinner. We had delicious salmon. Thank you again Karlee and Mike!!!
