Marathon

Ever since my mission I made a promise to myself that I would run a marathon. In January Steph called me and said "lets run a marathon this summer!" So she found a marathon and we signed up!! It took me a while to get into the running routine but by the summer I had a good routine going. I started going on longer runs and wanted someone to run with. So I begged Wyatt to go running with me. His first run with me was a 10 miler! (The longest he has ever run before.) It was so funny to see Wyatt so excited that he ran that much. So I convinced him to keep running and soon he was hooked and "had to run the marathon." It was a great experience to train with Wyatt and training for the marathon was one of the reasons we were so active this summer. I was so excited for the marathon day to finally come!

 Here are some pictures.

Steph gave a great summery about how the marathon day experience was so click here.

Since we just watched the Olympics we made sure we all had our athletic tape on... Wyatt had it on his knees, Steph had it on her thigh and I had it on my arches.

The marathon was a trail run so it was more like a marathon HIKE. We climbed almost a mile high during the race. It was either extremely steep incline or extremely steep decline.  It was defiantly a "definitive moment" experience for me. As we were running, when we got to the half marathon distance I thought "the smart decision would be to stop here, its been a great run but I am done!" and then I immediately thought "There is no way that I can I stop now, I am finishing this thing no matter what!" and we kept running. I know defiantly can say that the marathon was one of the hardest things I have done but I am so glad I did it. My new mindset is I ran that trail marathon so I can do anything!!

Here is the post marathon mani and pedi picture, thanks Wyatt for letting me get pampered!!

Cahoots

In July Wyatt came across a race called the CAHOOTS and insisted that we do it. I was nervous because it was the week before the marathon but Wyatt convinced me that it would be "okay." So we signed up. Here is the description of the cahoots on their website:

"When facing the chill wind of trial and adversity, a trusted friend is sometimes the only thing that can get us through.

The Cahoots Duo Challenge is a race series where you and a friend combine wits, strength, strategy and stamina to negotiate a barrage of nearly two dozen unique obstacles and challenges."

It was a very fun race. Luann and Hudson came along and cheered us on! Thanks Hudson for the pictures!

Mona Swing Jumping

In the beginning of August we went with some friends Kelly and Jake swing jumping. It was so much fun (although more frightening than I had anticipated). Wyatt and Jake loved showing off their flips and flops whereas Kelly and I were just trying to hold on for dear life!! Here are some pictures of that day!

Sun River Family Reunion

So we finally made it to Bend Oregon for the Smith's Family Reunion aka Grammy and Poppa's 60th Wedding Anniversary.

It was so much fun! Here are some collages I made to capture the fun moments of the reunion.

We had some great laughs, we went BANANAS,  and caught up with everyone. Thank you so much Grammy and Poppa for making this happen! You two are great examples to me and I hope one day I can celebrate my 60th anniversary with Wyatt!! Thank you for a fabulous reunion!!!

Provo to Oregon road trip

In July we took a very long road trip... my parents came from Denver, picked us up in Provo, we drove to California and then up to Oregon (and back). It was a burn and turn trip we drove for 5 of the 7 days we were gone. This was a much anticipated road trip for some bromancing (Wyatt and Andrew). Here are some pictures to clue to you...

The BROMANCE

Sporting their overalls, they had about 10 tickle fights, cuddling, and they just HAD to ride on the same bike together...)

OTHER FUN ADVENTURES ON THE WAY:
Got to love this sign "Floyd's Great food and Family fun!"
